Tin Barn
2003 Syrah
Sonoma County

Carolyn Coryelle’s vineyard is located in the coastal hills east of Jenner and Fort Ross above 1000 feet elevation, and provides Tin Barn with a unique source of California Syrah. Carolyn has planted both a meadow and a hill block.

Similar to the 2002 vintage, the 2003 wine has a deep purple color and intense aromas displaying some of the smoky/meaty characteristics of Syrah from the Northern Rhone region of France. A very full wine in the mouth, with flavors of dark fruit and hints of pepper and spice. We are very excited about our fourth release from this unique vineyard.

Winery
Our approach to winemaking at Tin Barn Vineyards is that the vineyards are the key to making great wine. All of the vineyards we work with are found in unique locations in Sonoma and Napa counties. We feel that the physical location of each vineyard and the dedication of the vineyard owners to producing great fruit provide us with outstanding grapes from which to make great wines. We have forged long-term relationships and grape contracts with our growers to insure the consistency and quality of our grape supplies. All of our grapes sources provide relatively small quantities of grapes such that our production from any one vineyard will be less than 1000 cases annually.
